Arsenal Stadium Okay I am not going to lie, I hate Arsenal I want them to play in non-league and I have always said that if I ever have enough money I will buy them and place them safely in the same league as Hitchin.
Okay I just want to make the point that any side who have had a new stadium in the prem have ended up going down, just ask Sunderland, Derby, Bolton etc.
This is a question to the Arsenal fans why do you think you will be different???
Answers such as it just will and because we have a strong financial position and because we are run correctly are not acceptable, don't you think Bolton etc were run correctly, don't you think they had the finances, I remind you next season you have to fill the stadium every single prem game just to pay the interest on the debt. |

Rochester they are three clubs which thought they could manage to become successful teams in the prem, they failed and now they are struggling except for Bolton who are okay, that is only because they have a decent manager, there is a big difference between the gooners and the other teams, namely that the new Emirates cost a hell of a lot more money. |

So you are saying those teams weren't doing that great so they tried to become sucessful by getting a new stadium and it failed, but Arsenal is already a sucessful premier team, which makes your whole theory invalid and this thread pointless now. |

No not quiet, would it be fair to say any premiership team is successful.
Okay I think the best example is Sunderland when they took on the new stadium project they were in the top ten sides in the premiership, now they are struggling at the foot of the table and now have the tag of being a yo-yo side.
Ashburton grove needs to be full for every game of the first season there just to be able to keep up with the interest payments, this means that they have no room for new players, the end result of this is that they were presuming that they would qualify for the champions league this season, and hope that they keep Henry at the end of the season, just so they can get money from merchandiding. If things do go to plan for Arsenal, say for instance they get behind on the interest payments, then this will mount and get the club into a position where they need to borrow, this is okay apart from the interest payments spirial as there is nothing to levy it against, so higher charges are introduced. This is how many clubs have found themselves to be struggling. In short Arsenal need Champions League football this season or they will start to struggle financially. |

Firstly the difference between Arsenal and those other clubs is that Arsenal has a significantly bigger fan base..that means more tickets sold..more memrobilia , aparel and other Arsenal stuff sold
Secondly Arsenal play champions league football and will play champions league football next year...and the financial spin-offs for this are so great for just playing is amazing
Thirdly Premier league prize money would be significantly higher for Arsenal than any of those clubs achieved...
Fourthly Arsenal have a team that could continue winning for the next few years ensuring top flight football unlike sunderland who got relegated and therefore a much more richer future..
Fifthly don't you think the people at Arsenal would have taken everything into consideration before making a huge decision like this...
And lastly Arsenal have saved a lot of money by bieng relativley inactive on the transfer market.
