legally speaking i do have a contract so they have to pay me but what i suspect would happen is they would offer me a percentage of the remaining value so it would be cheaper for them in the long run and i would get a one off payment and then i would get a real job until i was fit again then i'd start looking for a team again but hopefully i wont be in that situation

Lemmings, it wouldn't be your fault if you got an injury, to lay you off would be over the top, surely they wouldn't be allowed to because of employement laws.
