oh my god I heard about that. its one thing to blatantly advertise the product on your jerseys.. but to actually change your name to the red bulls. that's just embarassing  |

Yes Red Bull also took over a team iin Austria and called them Red Bull Salzburg. The team became actually very good and is currently in 2nd place in the top division. The fans were very angry over the take over and was fihgting management to change it back but eventually the gave up. This may be a good thing that Red Bull is taking over and better insure that the team and also the team will last and not flop if they have good financial backing.

Nope. Generally its just the stadium/field. i think the MLS needs to start taking shirts sponsors to avoid more of these. |

Actually the original name Metrostars did come from a sponser. The team was named, at least in part, after Metromedia Inc., company owned originally by Stuart Subotnick and John Kluge. |
