| Quote: | OXBOROUGH, Mass. - New England Revolution forward Taylor Twellman earned MLS Sierra Mist Goal of the Week honors for Week 4 following his spectacular volley against FC Dallas on Sunday, April 29 in the Revs' 1-0 victory at Pizza Hut Park, the league announced on Wednesday after national voting closed at MLSnet.com.
In the 13th minute, Steve Ralston found the league's leading scorer in the center of the penalty area. Twellman, with a defender on his back, took the ball on the fly and volleyed a shot in to the upper right corner of the goal past FC Dallas keeper Shaka Hislop. The goal - Twellman's second game-winning goal of the season - put the Revolution ahead, 1-0, and New England held on for the one-goal victory.
The honor marks the first time this season, and the third time in his six-year career, that Twellman has claimed the Goal of the Week award. Twellman was among the Goal of the Week nominees in Weeks 2 and 3, as well in Week 4 in which he won.
Twellman's Goal of the Week nod is the eighth in club history. In 2004, the award’s inaugural season, Steve Ralston won twice (Wks. 15 and 29) and Joe Franchino once (Wk. 5). In 2005, Twellman won twice (Wks. 1 and 24), in addition to Clint Dempsey’s award (Wk. 5). Last season, Dempsey won the award in Week 28.
The Revolution return to action on Thursday, May 3, when the team travels to face rival D.C. United at RFK Stadium at 7 p.m. in a nationally-televised game on ESPN2 on MLS Primetime Thursday. |

i know. cause i wasn't able to watch it
they beat chicago 3-1 today. & the rookie Cristman popped one over the keeper's leg around the 82nd. Larentowicz scored too. i suppose it's good we're not forced to depend only on Twellman this year.. though he's highly capable ;D golden boooot |
