I think mayby tottenham will finish higher next season cause arsenal killed themselves with selling henry but they have martins now so they are still good but i don't really know of they are going to finish higher.

I have to disagree..Arsenal played the majority of last season without henry, gallas, van persie. Eboue and rosicky had some lengthy spells on the sidelines too. Yet we finnished comfortably ahead of spurs..Also with a manager who decides to spend 16 mil on a striker to warm the bench when his defense is weak..I'm not convinced they can do it.

No offence our defence is not weak, we have Dawson, England international, King England's best CB, Roche a decent player and Gardner England international, and Kabl coming in France U-21 captain plus I am not sure but Curtis Davies as well who is ok. On top of that we have Dervitte, who I think could break through next season. RB we have Stalt's (who was injured last season as was King) and we also have Bale, Lee and Ekkto (sp) at LB. So all in all that is a quality defence

We lack one position and one only, which I am sure will be filled and that is a LW. Possibly a quality CM as well

Let's also think who will be missing for 6 weeks in Jan for both you and us

Us

Zokora (hard to take)
Ghaly (I care?)
Mido (will he be here??)

and er that's it

You

Adebayor
Eboue

off the top of my head, please feel free to add to that list

Fixtures between 20th Jan and 10th Feb

Spurs

Sunderland home
Everton away
Man U home
Derby away
Chelsea home

Arsenal

Fulham away
Newcastle home
Man C away
Blackburn home
Birmingham away

When you consider who will be away, it will be tricky for both of us, oh and if you do get Martins he is away also. So you are left with Van P and err??

No offense to england but english international doesn mean much these days thx to mclaren..The only quality cb you'll got is king..Other defenders..Bale i cant say cos i haven seen him play..The others are all average at best...
Thats if we get martins however im confident that wengas gonna try for teveZ..So we'll okay for that period..Michael owen's in the mix but i think him the least likely to come to the emirates...All in all spurs seem to have closed the gap somewhat or rather the gap has been closed with henrys departure but i still think arsenal will be ahead of spurs at the end of next season..Time will tell..

and king isn't the best Defender of england Smile he's the 2nd best defender, the best defender of england is John Terry.

I well king in my opinion is 3rd best behind terry and R Ferdinand

You can't predict who is going to be away for the Africa cup of nations cause at this day and age there are so many teams going for spots and teams like Togo don't get in easily so you never know who is going to be playing and players may not go

Imo even tho i don't like arsenal 1 bit I would have top give them the nod ahead

i think Arsenal's strikeforce is alot weaker than it should be.. and this is even before Henry left.. they have class players.. but no depth.. and depending on what happens with the Baptista-Reyes thing we could be even weaker.. as for defense.. i agree with Nasr, King is the only real reliable defender that Tottenham have.. not to say that Arsenals defense is much stronger Doh! but in the end i hope Arsenal can pull in Tevez, but i would like an older more experienced striker by preference.

I think you guys have massively under rated Micheal Dawson, he was a rock when King was out last season and next to King that has to be one of the best CB pairing about. At the end of the season we had something like 7 wins in 10 simply because we had these players at the back

Correct me if I am wrong but I doubt Arsenal could afford Teves, he is around the £30m mark, and Man U are sniffing as well as Inter. However I think it is likely he will be at West Ham for one more season before he leaves the country. Owen is not leaving I have no doubt, he owes Newcastle too much and Martins has said he is desperate to stay. Correct me if I am wrong but I think your budget is around 15-20m with the sale of Henry, that really won't buy much now days, and except for Van P, could you seriously say any of your strikers would get into our 4. Our midfield is good but need strengthing, yours is only good if Rosicky and Fabregas are playing, I have never seen a team change so much with one player coming on as I did in the derby when Fab came on. This throws questions up, is Fabregas unhappy? will he leave now Henry is gone and Wenger soon to go, surely the doubt over the new contract will give doubts for the whole squad and could have a similar effect as the season when Ferguson said he was retiring, at the end of the season.

I throughly believe with all our defence fit that we have the better defence, many consider Chimbo the best RB in the country, even Chelsea offered £12m this summer for him, which we told them to go and f**k themselves about. With Robbo on form he is class, but the class of last season is poo.

Before you guys say Arsenal have a young squad, I believe we are similar ages, can I also add, for those of you who do not know about Bale, he is class, scores goals for fun, 2 in 6 for Wales as a LB. His freekicks have been said to be similar to Beckham. He can cross on to the head of a pin. He lacks pace and experience, hence why he might be played at LW. With Lee (who I think was class at the end of the season) at LB

All I know is that it could be a great battle especially as Jol has said he will play a second string in the Carling next season, and we have experience of how to deal in Europe. The main thing for us is we must get off to a far better start then last season, which shouldn't be too hard.
