| Quote: | Robinho deal done
After months of trying and an unsuccessful bid by Arsenal, Brazilian international Robinho is finally set to join Real Madrid.
The agreed price is 25 million euros.
Amazingly, the player’s agent gets 40% of that transfer fee. Looks like Robinho is making his agent Wagner Ribeiro awfully rich.
Agents make me laugh. Why is this man getting such a large sum? Something doesn’t seem right about that.
This sort of deal should be completely outlawed.
Madrid has their new attacking option in place now. Expect the sale of Michael Owen soon, or Ronaldo, but the overweight coach favorite is likely to survive at Madrid. Owen though, would do well to go as his talent is being wasted.
A host of English clubs could profit from this deal.
I think this is a prime moment for Chelsea or Arsenal to buy the England international but I suppose Real would not be so pleased with Arsenal at the moment for driving up their new player's price. Arsenal and Robinho's agent |

Everton Sign Phil Neville
| Quote: | 8/4/2005 3:34:00 PM
Everton have signed Phil Neville from Manchester United, subject to the England international passing a medical.
The 28-year-old has spent his entire career at Old Trafford, but after being a fringe player for the past few seasons his time at the club is coming to an end.
It is believed the versatile player, who has played 389 matches for United, will cost the Toffees in the region of £3m.
"Phil is a quality footballer who will, I feel certain, improve and enhance the squad we are putting together," said Everton boss David Moyes.
"He is very much a professional’s professional and I am very happy to have signed him.
"Primarily I see Phil as a holding midfield player but he is so versatile that he gives us not only much-needed cover but also several additional options.
"We have staved off a great deal of competition to get him but from the first minute I spoke to him he only wanted to come and join Everton. His attitude throughout the entire negotiation process has been first class."
