| Quote: | Jose Mourinho believes that Arsenal have a replacement for Patrick Vieira already lined up.
The Gunners sold their skipper to Juventus on Friday in a £13.5 million deal, and they now have a huge hole to fill in their squad.
Chelsea boss Mourinho believes that his Highbury counterpart Arsene Wenger would not allow Vieira to leave North London unless he had a good replacement lined up.
"He's a big player," said Mourinho. "Arsenal was a very happy club to have such a good player and Juventus is also a lucky club to have a player like him.
"He was in a big club and has now changed for another big club, that's life in football.
"I don't know if the deal was easy or difficult, I don't know.
"I think they are not stupid to be fair. They have in their manager a very intelligent person so I don't believe they do deals just by instinct or without thinking and discussing and analysing the situation.
"If they do it, it's for some reason around the corner. They will have another solution and if they do it, it's because they think it's good for them.
"I have the idea that they are intelligent people and they do it because they think it is better for them."
Mourinho admitted he would love to have Vieira in his squad, but admits there will now not be a chance of that happening.
"Everyone likes to have big players with big personalities. I had a chance to get to know him personally at a charity dinner once and he looked to me like a very nice person.
"But there will be no more chances to coach him. He's 29, he has four or five years on his contract with Juventus so no chance.
"If you speak generally I think players are like managers, you don't have young players or old players, just good ones, people who get results and players who are performing.
"Maldini is 36 and nobody is better than him.
"Some players of 20 can't run. 28, 29, 30 is a very good age for a player because you don't lose your qualities in physical terms and in tactical terms your vision of the game and experience is high."

Latest on Vpersie
Speaking after Arsenal opened their pre-season campaign with a 4-1 victory over Barnet, Wenger also confirmed Robin van Persie has been given a fortnight's holiday.
Van Persie has been questioned by police in his native Holland over allegations of rape and Wenger believes the young striker needs some time off.
"He was under immense pressure and I felt he needed some time to reflect on the situation and to recover as well," continued the Frenchman.
"I feel he will come back in very good shape." |

Van persie CASE :
Arsène Wenger has called on the Dutch authorities to deal with Robin van Persie's rape case as quickly as possible.
Van Persie is at Arsenal's training camp in Austria, but has the shadow of a police investigation still hanging over him. The 21-year-old forward was arrested in June and accused of a sexual assault on the former Miss Nigeria Holland Sandra Krijgsman in a hotel in Rotterdam.
He was in custody for 15 days before being released on bail, when it was reported that further inquiries would take two weeks to complete

Sources close to Freddie Ljungberg have moved swiftly to deny reports in Greece that the Arsenal star met with Olympiakos president Socrates Kokkalis this week.
The Sweden international is out of contract next term and is yet to commit his future to the FA Cup holders.
Olympiakos coach Trond Sollied is a huge admirer of the 28-year-old and reports in Athens claimed the club were looking to set up a sensational transfer.
However, a source close to player told Expressen that the stories are "nonsense".
It was front-page news in Greek publication Sportime, but Ljungberg has been at Arsenal's training camp in Austria and would appear to have had little time to travel to Athens.
Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood revealed recently that the club were entering into negotiations with Ljungberg about a new contract in order to prevent him leaving under the Bosman Ruling next year
