Newcastle Still Keen On Anelka Newcastle boss Graeme Souness has insisted that he is still keen on French striker Nicolas Anelka, despite Fenerbahce stressing that he wasn't for sale.
Souness also revealed that he asked former Magpies boss Kevin Keegan about Anelka. Keegan was in charge of Manchester City when they sold the former Arsenal and Real Madrid star to Fenerbahce just six months ago.
Souness told the Newcastle Evening Chronicle: "I spoke to Kevin Keegan and he said Anelka was one of the best strikers he’s worked with.
"If we do get him, we know he’ll do the business on the field.
"Off the field he has a more settled family life now. But he’s not a big socialiser. He doesn’t go out and he’s not a playboy." |

Why?? they already have good forwards like owen, shearer and luque ,....... so they don't need Anelka |
