Firstly wenga's known for buying unknowns and turning em into being top players. Secondly i watched some stuff on you tube on him..Soon as this guy is in the box he shoots..Reminds me of ruud van nisterooy..He's a poacher..But really i havent seen enough of him to decide whether he has what he takes to be a prem player and to hold down a regular place in the arsenal side..I'm almost inclined to agree with issbil about the level of league that he was playing in...However that doesn immediately send him to the gallows i can think of alot of players who had meagre beginings but went on to become heroes..One that comes to my mind is my fellow countryman (traitor albeit) benni mcarthy..He started of at a lesser club here in sa..Which i think compares to the croatian league and has become one of the topscorers in the epl..So there

I think he played int the European Cup of 2004 (I think, maybe it was an other naturalised brazilian who played for Croatia). He was good, but wasn't that good really, but that's already 3 years ago.

I could quite easily provide a list of players who Wenger spent a lot of money on and its been wasted, in truth there are very few players which Wenger actually made good, of the top of my head I can name 4 cheap buys whom he made a large profit on, or who are any good

Fabregas
Vieria
Overmars
Anelka

that's about it

before you say what about Henry, he cost £10m+ so not exactly unfounded, Vieria gets in their despite costing 3.5m and Walnut has proved nothing at £11m potential means nothing

you're forgetting ljungberg, who gave in pretty much classy perfomances for quite some time until recently. Also his latest signing i.e:diaby, denilson, van persie are shaping up quite well. i forgot to mention toure.

Face it, we'll be finishing above the spurs come this season Wink
