Leaving the Goal Do you think goalies should come out of their goal when in doubt of their defensive team? I know it seems rather unreliable, but when playing on teams that aren't pro, college, or club I think it is often hard to trust some teamates that I have never really ever played with before. I know a recreational team that I play for has a goalie, and he doesn't always trust the defense to clear the ball, so he has to step it up so he doesn't put himself in a 1 on 1 situation.
What do you guys think? |

well what do you mean? like having the goalie actually play the field? if that's the case, nooo way lol. it's too risky.. a reletively fast forward could cut their way around them & hit the ball in from 50 yards out. but if you mean just stand a little ways out of the box, then yea... as long as they adjust their position reletive to where the ball is on the field. |

well, there is, if its a set piece...look at Marlon Beresford in the 2006 FA Cup 3rd round agaisnt Liverpool, he came up for a vital corner, but it was cleared & he was still in LFC's half, so Xabi Alonso shot it & the rest is history
but if you look at Roger Ceni & Jose Chilverz, they can score from set pieces! |
