O'Neill: Young Could Play For Barcelona
This weekend, Ashley Young took Villa's local rivals by storm, hitting two goals in an incredibly dynamic, Man of the Match display.

O'Neill has done well to build a strong foundation at Villa Park and they are chasing UEFA Cup qualification this year. It is out of their hands and, perhaps at least this season, a bridge too far, but O'Neill is nevertheless optimistic and proud of the way his side is heading.

"Everybody wants answers: fans do, we do, everybody does," the former Celtic boss told the Birmingham Mail. "I am here to improve the team in a manner that is pleasing but, more importantly, trying to improve the side more quickly in a world where there is no such thing as patience. So we will see.

"We are talking about players now very firmly in the limelight: Ashley Young, Gabby Agbonlahor... and one never knows.

"After that sort of performance (against Blues), we might be talking about Ashley Young and Barcelona.

"For us to try and realise our own particular ambitions we want to try to strengthen our side, not lose players."

Club captain Gareth Barry has been linked with a move away from the club and reportedly seeking the dizzy heights of Champions League football. O'Neill has called for calm over the comments and insists he will talk to the player in private to discuss his future.

"The best thing to do would be to sit down with Gareth at the end of the season," explained O'Neill.

"That's the only sensible thing to do. It is part of the job - we will see where we go. He has got two years left to run."

can't see why barca need another stricker/winger. Hope young stays, it will be hard for him to get into a line up with the likes of Messi, Henry and Eto'o unless one of them leave
