Calderon To Cesc: Ask For A Transfer
The playmaker has been followed by the Liga champions for some time now, with Calderon being particularly impressed by the player.

Further to that, the president has time and time again insisted he would like to make Real Madrid 'more Spanish', and acquiring one of Spain's best young talents would be a sure-fire way to go about achieving his goal.

The Spanish international has progressed remarkably well with the Gunners since joining from Barcelona in 2003, having become an important piece in Arsène Wenger's scheme, and his performances have not passed unnoticed at Santiago Bernabéu.
However, Calderon does insist he won't begin negotiations with the London club if the 21-year-old does not want to leave Emirates Stadium.

"Cesc is a player that our coaches would like to have, just like the board," Calderón told Radio Marca. "However, just like Cristiano Ronaldo, this has to be a decision taken by the player himself.

"My policy is never to create problems with a team that do not want to sell. It has to be the player, who understands that a cycle has ended and wants to take on a new challenge. If that happens, we will be here to negotiate with his team.

The Real Madrid chairman revealed, meanwhile, that he has wanted to sign Fàbregas since he arrived at the Spanish capital club, adding that the Arsenal footballer is a world-class player.

"He is a player that we really like, he is Spanish. I would like Real to be more Spanish. With De la Red, Granero and Javi García we will do that and Cesc is number one in his position. I would like to sign him but that's something he himself has to solve."

Calderon announced recently that he would only like to bring in three new players this summer - could Fabregas be one of them?
