Coaching - A How To?
I have played soccer for most of my life, and I feel I have a pretty good grasp of the game. After an injury a little over a year ago, getting back out on the field for long periods of time isn't possible. Therefore, I've looked into becoming a coach. Probably a high school soccer coach. However, I'm not really too sure of how to go about with this.

Anyone here who is currently a high school coach, can you help me out here and give me some tips on a good route to helping out first and then becoming a head coach? Thanks!

my high school coach played for my school & won states in 1994.. but honestly, it's not like she's a soccer god. if you've had a promising soccer career in your past, you'll have no problem coaching high school.

yea mate but first u need a coaching license thing if u want to get a job(i got mine), but u have to be carfeul with wat ages u choose to coach, if ur gunna b coaching around 18's in most of the teams there are going to be really big ego's, i got my coachin license from grass roots to 15's and its good to have that kind of knowledge with you if your a player...but ur not playin so i dunno.
the main things they look at are
-how u can tell who the good players r in attk and defece.
-how u judge certain situations
-how to construct your team with the players you have and against the opposition
and i did a test to c wat you would do with each formation and wat kind of player u need......eg.. ur not goin to play 3-4-3 with no DMF if there playin 4-3-3 unless ur backs man to man mark and u lose the structure in ur defence....theres acouple of tricky little things in there but its all good...if u dont really care how much $$$ u get Very Happy
