Saviola Looks To Prove His Worth The Argentinian is rumoured to be one of the players that Los Merengues will off-load in the summer, but he is determined to show the club that he can be an asset and should stay.
After returning form injury, Saviola was given a chance to impress against Athletic Bilbao on Sunday and he did just that by scoring the first goal and testing the visitors defence with his speed and guile.
"I have a real reason to smile again. I am delighted to have played again and to help the team at a time when we are so close to the title;" he said.
"It was a night that I will never forget and was my reward for all the hard work I have done in the past few weeks. I was absolutely desperate to help the team and to show I could be useful.
"I have always said that I want to be successful here and to show that I can play for Madrid. Now I am completely focussed on playing and in closing the season as well as I can in order to help the team win the title."
Saviola joined Real Madrid from Barcelona on a free transfer last summer, but has hardly been given a chance to impress at the Bernabéu and he is keen to find out what the club want to do, but only after the final game.
"Until the season is finished I will not speak to the club. At the moment I just want to think about playing, nothing else," he explained. "I have said that my desire is to stay with Real Madrid, but only when the campaign is over will I sit down and discuss this." |

He really should leave, he is a great player but with the likes of Raul, Van Nistilroy, Robbern and Robinho he will struggle to make it in to the first team |
