Roma Captuer Kuffour Roma get Kuffour:
UEFA Cup-bound AS Roma have announced the signing of Ghana defender Samuel Kuffour on a free transfer from FC Bayern München.
| Quote: | Italian return
Kuffour, 28, returns to Italy after being brought to Europe by Torino Calcio when he was just 13. He subsequently joined Bayern from the Italian club in 1993. He has signed a three-year contract.
Bayern success
After a loan spell with 1. FC Nürnberg in 1996/97, Kuffour made his breakthrough in the Bayern first team. He was a key player when the Munich side won the UEFA Champions League by beating Valencia CF on penalties in 2001 and then scored the winning goal in the European/South American Cup as Bayern beat CA Boca Juniors 1-0 in Tokyo.
Personal honours
Voted Ghana's Footballer of the Year twice (1998 and 1999) and the second best footballer in Africa in 1999 and 2001, Kuffour is Roma's second summer signing after Brazilian winger Rodrigo Taddei, who arrived from AC Siena. Roma have secured a UEFA Cup place after winning through to the Coppa Italia final, where they will meet UEFA Champions League-bound FC Internazionale Milano on 12 and 15 June. |

Arsenal sign super kid! Arsenal sign Imps starlet Hobbs
Arsenal have signed teenager Jack Hobbs from League Two side Lincoln City, according to reports.
The Gunners have beaten Manchester United in the race to land the 16-year-old central defender.
Highbury chief executive David Dein is set to authorise a six-figure payment for the Imps star.
Hobbs joined Lincoln in 1997 as a nine-year-old in their academy and has progressed through the youth ranks to earn a first team squad spot this year. |

Nonda
AS Monaco >>---> AS Roma
| Quote: | Roma seal Nonda deal
Roma have completed the signing of Shabani Nonda.
The DR Congo international has penned a three-year deal at Estadio Olimpico after seeing out his contract at Monaco.
Nonda has been looking for a new challenge after failing to hold down a regular place in the Monaco side last season.
The former Rennes man had been linked with moves to Juventus and Rangers, but Roma have won the race for his signature.
Nonda was delighted to be making the move to the Italian capital.
"I am happy to join Roma, a great club, an important side with players of international level," Nonda told the club's official website.
"A particular thanks to the Sensi family and the leaders of Roma who believe in my potential and have given me more motivation to come to Roma." |
